			Aims and Scope
			With the enormous progress in the fields of medical sciences in last few decades, the research on diseases, drugs and drug delivery has become extremely specialized. Keeping up with the trend, the peer-reviewed scientific journals have also become specialized. The extreme specialization has resulted in compartmentalization and complete segregation of disciplines related to pharmaceutical sciences. Relating a new development in drug delivery (for example) has become difficult to be noticed by the researchers in other related disciplines (for example) the pharmacologists and/or clinicians. Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacology is being launched to address this disconnect. The aim of this journal is to publish high quality original research work and broad reviews in all related disciplines relevant to drugs under the same umbrella. Our expectation is that it will help the researchers, scholars and scientists to put their and others' work in the bigger context resulting in enhanced interdisciplinary and integrated research effort. The journal is intended to cover all disciplines and challenges in science, technology and engineering that contribute to the development of new improved drug molecules and drug use. The scope of the journal is divided in the following broad research areas. Pharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics topics include physical pharmacy like solubility, dissolution, ionization, acidity and basicity; formulation, drug delivery including delivery of proteins, polypeptides, nucleotides, DNA and other nucleic acids; preparation, characterization and use of drug delivery platforms including micro and nanoparticulate ones; drug targeting (including but not limited to cancer); drug stability; drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination; drug concentration- effect relationship, etc. Pharmacology topics include drug-receptor interaction, mechanism of action of drugs, drug transporters, p-glycoprotein, exploration in new receptor type/subtype, their tissue/organ occurrence and their functions, clinical pharmacology, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacogenetics, drug safety, toxicology Medicinal Chemistry topics include design, synthesis and biological evaluation of bioactive compounds, molecular modification of compounds that lead to greater understanding of structure-activity relationship (SAR) and quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR); design, preparation and characterization of diagnostic agents, contrast media; molecular biological studies; computational studies that provide insight to SAR and QSAR and effect of molecular structure on physiological distribution of drugs, biochemistry, pharmacodynamics Pharmacognosy topics include identification of new compounds of pharmacological interests in nature, their isolation, characterization and establishment of their pharmacologic effects and applications. 			Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacology publishes review articles, full research articles and short communications of important new scientific findings on all research aspects dealing with pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacology. Review articles should include comprehensive, critical and up-to-date information on a particular research topic related to any fields of pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacology, with author's photo and short biography. The peer-reviewed proceedings of scientific meetings, symposia and workshops related to pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacology are also published. Authors will receive the following benefits:
